Pixels and Paper and Stuck?! sketch

Gooday to you!! I hope your day is going really well... I can't believe we are in the last week of October already... my goodness!

The challenge over at Pixels and Paper is to be inspired by this picture..

I thought of birthdays and so I scrapped a photo of my youngest at her birthday last year.. She has her birthday on the 28th December and it is a busy time of the year.. last year we spent the day out shopping and so I didnt actually get to make her a cake, so I put a candle in a rum ball (no rum in it!!) and we sang happy birthday to her that way!!

Wish.
I have been digging down into my papers and stickers and things and using older things.. trying to use them up!! A few older chipboard stickers on this layout!

And the sketch for Stuck?! October 15th was another great one..
I decided to cut my photo into 3 pieces instead of using 3 photos and I am quietly happy with how this turned out..Lots of stamping in the back ground for this one..

A little bit country..

The photo was one I took in the gardens in September.. the flowers are fussy cut from an old calendar.. The papers are Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden..a bit of lace and a couple of ribbon bows!!

Well I hope this finds you well .. I do know how busy we all are, so I do appreciate the time you have taken to come by and thanks so much for any comments too!!

OUAS and Jot mini challenge - the greatest view

Good day to you! Thanks so much for coming on by!!

This months challenge for Once Upon A Sketch is to use the sketch and go with the theme of JOURNEY..
The sketch..
I like these challenges because I often spend a long time thinking about what I will scrap about.. This time I thought I would do a layout about my Dad..I have put some facts about his life on the back of the layout as there was just too many for the front...
I titled the layout... The journey of a life time..

The photos are of my Dad when he was about 7 years old, then just after he married Mum and then a photo taken in September this year.. and my journalling...on the back of my layout..

And I came across a challenge run by Jot Magazine which I saw on Kim's blog and it is to create a layout about your greatest view.. lots of interpretations for this I would imagine..
I have always loved horses and I reckon the one of the greatest views is when you are riding high on a horse.. I used a photo of Hannah on our horse...

The greatest view...
I have used those lovely papers by Bo Bunny Gabrielle range...

Thanks for taking the time to come by and as always I do appreciate your comments too!

New Bird Word and card challenges...

Hello there, as I type this the thunder is rolling by another storm is on its way..  So I shall try and get this all posted in case the power goes down as can sometimes happen here in storms..

The new word for BIRD IS THE WORD is a good one.. it is INSPIRE..  a word that I find I use when I think of so many things.. One thing that inspires me is the beach, I love the waves rolling in and how awesome the ocean is.. so I have used a photo of me at the beach taken a few years ago..

The beach inspires me...
and a bit closer...
I hope you feel inspired to create a layout for this challenge!

And I have been creating some cards for some challenges too..

For CARDABILITIES #85  the sketch looks like..and my cards,  i did 2 using the sketch..

And for FEELING SKETCHY #72 the sketch looks like

and I created 2 cards using the sketch and my cards ..
and the challenge for LETS GET SHABBY is to use BUTTONS!! I have quite a few buttons so I thought I would create a card to this challenge also.. another Christmas card!
I cut a Christmas tree from a die and decorated it with buttons and string of pearls!!
Well thanks so much for coming by, the rains are falling now and I better get off here!! Thanks for your comments too!!

Kraft it up and Orange Paperie October.

Hello to you! So glad you have dropped on by!

The challenge for KRAFT IT UP this month is a color one.. to use this color combo..
My first attempt at these colors looked like a disaster, blobs of orange and navy paint that mixed and turned a yukky color, but rather then throw it out I put strips of orange and navy papers over it and then put a piece of decorative kraft paper which I got in a stack from spotlight over the top of that and cut a circle out and put my photo in and layered up the embellishments.. phew.. what a save!!  I don't have much kraft cardstock so I don't like to throw it out, even if it looks like a disaster!!hehe!

Take each day as it comes..
The photo was taken at Mooloolaba on the school holidays..Nisha is standing on the rocks in the morning sun.. and a bit closer..another hand made flower using dies..

And another color challenge this time from ORANGE PAPERIE & CO which is to use black white and a splash of another color..
I love black and white together, the hard part was choosing a color to go with it.. I went with aqua..

Cousins..

and a bit closer..again hand made flowers from the same papers to be a perfect color  match..

and just a little reminder about the SCRAP THE GIRLS October challenge which is a fun recipe challenge to use..  hexagons,  squiggles, circles, rectangles and strips.. Would love to see your layout for it!!

Thanks for coming by and I always love reading your comments too!!

When I was looking for a photo for a challenge I came across this photo of my great nephew and thought that would go well for this months SCRAP THE BOYS challenge which is to use blue and green colors..

Mischief maker.
and a bit closer.. I have used various dies and also added some buttons...and a bit of mist with an arrow stencil.

The October challenge for 123 CHALLENGE BLOG is to use
I created this layout last night and had no idea how it would turn out.. no plan or sketch, just fussy cut the elements from the papers I was using and created this....

Even on a rainy day, you keep sunshine in your heart..

I have yellow the word heart and I used mixed fonts on my computer for the title.. I used papers from a DCWV stack called skys the limit that I got from spotlight..

and the last layout is created using the sketch from STUCK1? OCT 1st which I used like this..
and my layout..

Cherish this moment..
I love this photo of Hannah and Lucy.. lots of stamping in the back ground.. and I made the black flowers!!
