The Scrapbookers Journal Issue 9 - 4 layouts

Hello there, welcome to May.. the last month of Autumn for me and the mornings are crisp and cool and the days warm up so you have to dress in layers!

The new edition of the SCRAPBOOKERS JOURNAL  is out today and it is a stunner! Loads of inspiration and a wonderful array of creations.. I have 4 layouts in it this month which I would love to share with you..

The first layout you will find as you go through the pages is for the Vintage Section. I had this lovely photo of my Mum with her Mum (my Grandma) so I thought that would be perfect to capture on a vintagey page.. The photo was taken in the late 1930's as my mum is about 4 or 5 she thinks..

a couple of closer views.

.

When I think of vintage I think of old laces, doileys and flowers.

Florence and Betty

The next layout in the Magazine is for a Ribbon challenge.. I had some fine ribbon that I thought I would use on my layout..

I love the romance of a lace up corset so this is how I used the ribbon..

The next layout is for the Love section.. I have used a photo of my Grandie and my sons cat. I think she really loved him!!

Soul Scrappers Challenges

Hi there! How are things in  your part of the world? It is Autumn here and the days have been glorious! A hint of coolness in the mornings and evenings and sunny days in between! No complaints from me about the weather! There are some bulbs popping up in their pots and I look forward to seeing them bloom some day!

I have been doing a bit of creating for the challenges over at SOUL SCRAPPERS ON FACEBOOK and so far have completed 3 layouts.. I am hoping to maybe get one or two more done by the end of the month, but sometimes life happens and the creating has to wait!

The first layout I would like to share is for the Mystery Challenge which is..

Anything Easter - and it has to have Either or an Easter Bunny, Easter eggs or Easter chicks on your creation.. Well I have used a photo of my grandies taken this last Easter with their cute Easter ears on so if you use your imagination they could be cute little Easter bunnies!! and I have some fussy cut Easter Eggs on my layout..

A closer view..

Just a view of the Easter Eggs fussy cut and layered with foam tape and fussy cut elements and die cuts in this cluster.. I have used an older range of Kaisercraft papers..

Treasure everyday

And yes Alfonzo had to be in the photo too, but he wore his own ears!!

The next layout I would like to share is for the One Word challenge which is to use either S, R or U as the title word for your layout and also at least half a page of paper strips..

a closer view..

a view of the layered cluster, and the word I have used is Us, and I have used a photo of my family taken in February..

It seems to be so hard to get us all together these days, so this was a perfect opportunity to grab a photo.. You can see the paper strips, and I am not sure of the papers I have used, but they are very old!!

And the third layout is for the Sketch challenge which looks like..

Fussy cut daisy's and I have stuck to the sketch pretty much.. again, I think there is a mix of Kaisercraft papers and some other brands..

Soul Scrappers Challenges - Sketch, Monochromatic and One Word

Hello there, How is your February going? We have had some very hot days and some wet days, all very usual for our last month of summer!

I have been creating and have 3 layouts I would love to share with you for the challenges over at SOUL SCRAPPERS on Facebook . The first layout is for the sketch, which looks like..

I have followed the sketch pretty closely.

a closer view.

I had a bit of a tidy up and I found lots of lace so I have used lace on all 3 of my layouts. I did a little bit of stencilling for interest and fussy cut the sunflowers to match my photo..

There are so many beautiful reasons to be happy.

The next layout I would like to share is for the Monochromatic challenge where we were allocated a color, and the color I got was brown.. humm I wondered if I had any brown in my stash, I need not have worried, yes I found brown.. I kinda went with a Vintagey look..

a closer view.

I found I had brown and hessian flowers and I used them.. I found this clock face with a horse on it and as my Dad loved horses I used that in this cluster.. other things I used on my page were die cut wheat as my Dad was a Farmer and grew wheat at times for the grain for his cattle..

Sweet memories

I love this photo of two of my daughters and my Dad..very precious memories now..  I like how this turned out..

and the final layout is for the One Word challenge, to use either a G or D or T for the title word on your layout. and use some texture paste through a stencil... and I chose G for Grin and used a photo of my Grandie when she was so little and she had a very cheeky grin!!

a closer view.

just a view of the cluster with fussy cut flowers and again I used a clock face..

Grin.

Just a little bit of stencilling on the side of my page to compliment the softness of the page..

So there are my 3 layouts, I did enjoy creating them.. I hope to do some more creating before the month is out, but life has a way of getting busy when you least expect it! Thanks for dropping by, and do take care.. until next time..
